Inglewood Triangle

As a classroom trivia activity we Google mapped teacher Paul's forthcoming holiday destination;

 Cuba
 The discussion drifted to Barbados and Bermuda and we check there out too.
Bermuda is actually the furthest place on Earth from Perth.

After class I drifted to Inglewood Triangle to check this bush-land out.
The Wattle-birds are part of the experience you miss online.

The trek to class

I get to Leederville quite cheaply by catching a bus from Inglewood to Highgate for a 2 section fare.
I then walk partially cutting through Hyde Park then along Vincent St past Beatty Park Pool and Vincent Library.

Trip 2 to Naval Base

Reinforcing the dunes with remaining trees was today's main task.
We also sawed up a fallen tree, collected up planting sticks and bags from last year.
Then we had a bacon and egg fry up and cleaned up the area.

Uniting Care West nearby

After a clean up day at a Uniting Care West house in Wanneroo, I noticed as if for the first time Uniting Care West Office is nearby where I live in Inglewood.

Coincidences Continue

Tuesdays coincidence was we discussed the Noongar seasons after discovering them written on a TAFE wall where we were mulching.....only to discover them again out at Kings Park where they are written and explained in the Botanical Gardens. Here's a bit about them;
Seasons:
Birak
 –
December and January, the first summer
Bunuru
 – February and March, the second summer
Djeran – April and May, autumn
Makuru – June and July, the first rains
Djilba – August and September, the second rains
Kambarang – October and November, the wildflower season

Noongar people have traditionally hunted and gathered food according to the six seasons. In our Noongar language these are called Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba, Kambarang and Birak and are determined by the weather patterns.
The coincidences don't stop there!
During our today's (Thursday's) Gardening course Excursion we went to Toolmart in Osborne Park to pick up a repaired brush cutter.

Little did I know I would go on to meet Travis Sharpe later this day at Forrest Chase!!

At Toolmart the big offer seemed to be this;
